This blog is dedicated to my wife, Hanne, who has, I believe, perfected the art of beachcombing. That is, the art of strolling (can anything that slow actually be called strolling?), rather randomly, over a beach, picking up all sorts of beach "stuff". By the time she's finished, the bag she has with her will surely be filled with "goodies"; rocks, stones, feathers, clams, and sundry other items I'm not qualified to identify.

The tribute is to Theo Dombrowski of "Secret Beaches of...." fame. His set of books (I'll be referring to them over and over throughout this blog) were an inspiration to us as we sought to know this place we call home since our retirement. If you live on Vancouver Island, his books are a must. With Theo Dombrowski's books, you need never be bored. If you think you have nothing to do, just pull out what I trust will be a well-thumbed copy of "Secret Beaches" and GO! EXPLORE!

In the course of following Theo Dombrowski's excellent and humorous directions to hundreds of beaches, and beaches that we've stumbled upon ourselves, I've managed to take quite a few photos. I now feel an urge to share them. Hence this blog.
